Focus on your Surroundings

This technique helps ground you in the real world.


  1. Name five things you see in the room.
  2. Describe them aloud. Their colors, patterns, textures, size, anything.
  3. Listen & identify four sounds around you. A bird chirping, music in the other room, even the sound of the refridgerator!
  4. Find & feel three textures whether it is the chair you are sitting in, your feet on the ground or maybe some cool running water.
  5. Focus on everything in the world around you.
